Ingredients
- Half cup channa dal
- 1 chopped new guinea bean
- Pinch of cumin seed
- Half table spoon of salt
- Pinch of cracked black pepper
- 1 big onion
- 2 spoons mustard oil
- Half spoon turmeric
- Half table spoon garam masala
- Some fresh coriander
Instructions:

Soak half cup of channa dal for 30 minutes.

Heat some mustard oil in a pressure cooker enough to fry the chopped onions. Let the oil heat until it start releasing smoke.

Add a pinch of cumin seeds. Stir for two seconds and then add grated garlic. Fry for 30 seconds. The add one chopped onion and fry for 2 minutes while stirring ocassionally. Then add grated ginger and fry for few seconds. Add salt according to taste and half spoon turmeric. Mix well.

Add chopped cubes of new guinea bean and soaked channa dal. Mix and let it cook for some time. Close the lid of the pressure cooker and cook for two whistles on full heat. Do not release the pressure.

After opening the lid if the contents (especially dal) is not cooked well then you can add a little water and cook further for some time inside the pressure cooker with open lid. Add one table spoon of garam masala powder and a pinch of cracked black pepper , in the end , after cooking.

Garnish with fresh green conriander and serve.
